A member of France's 2018 World Cup winning squad has sold their medal in an online auction for a whopping $71,875. The medal was listed for an auction on JuliensLive.com who sell a variety of expensive celebrity memorabilia

It is unknown who the medal belongs to from Didier Deschamps' 23 man squad that achieved glory in Russia two years ago.
Winning the World Cup is usually considered the pinnacle of football so it's surprising that a player has already cashed in on the medal.

A 2018 FIFA World Cup gold winner's medal awarded to a player from the champion France national football team. The 2018 FIFA World Cup took place from June 14 to July 15, 2018 in Russia. "It was the 11th time the championships had been held in Europe, the first to be held in Eastern Europe. The obverse of the medal features a relief image of the World Cup trophy with an athletic figure with arms outstretched in victory and the text '2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.' "The reverse of the medal features the text, 'World Champion/ FIFA World Cup/ Russia 2018' and the official emblem FIFA World Cup 2018 emblem to the center. The medal hangs on a blue FIFA ribbon."  The medal received ten bids before officially being sold for the huge sum, which roughly exchanges to £59,000.

Africa’s biggest grocery retailer, Shoprite, has announced plans to discontinue operations in Nigeria, after 15 years. The South African retailer in a statement released on Monday, revealed it has started a formal process to consider the potential sale of all or a majority stake in its supermarkets in Nigeria. A Nigerian company has finally made the country proud by manufacturing the country's first electric car. An indigenous company called JET Motor Company has manufactured the nation’s first electric vehicle called JET EV. According to Naija Stories on Twitter on Wednesday, July 22, the prototype of the machine was taken on a 300km test drive from Lagos to Benin. Before the test drive, the manufacturer already got a fund backing of $9 million (N3,487,500,000) backing from Canadian-based Africa Development Capital, Techpoint reports.
